Sue and Bunchy represented the S.A.S. at Edinburgh when the Scottish Executive asked for a power point presentation to show the work that has been taking place in Shetland over the past year.

Building the power point and figuring out what to say was a challenge that took some time and a lot of nervous tension!  Finally it was done and we were surprised to see how much activity has been going on for the S.A.S. this past year.

The power point showed the numbers of group meetings held, women’s, mixed, parents and partners, both facilitated and informal. It also showed that the website has had over 30,000 visitors since it went online in December 2006!!

When we got to Edinburgh we both felt a bit overcome at the very ‘official’ appearance of everything. We had to stay in a hotel where the Scottish Executive were holding the presentations…..it was nothing like anything we have been used to before…..

.         ...smart rooms!!

...amazing view from the rooms!

...tea, coffee, pringles and jelly beans in each room!

Amazing showers with our own rubber duck included!

When our nerves let us we chilled out!

The meeting went very well with the government representatives very interested in all we have been doing in S.A.S. over the past year using the Scottish Executive funding..
