Words reflecting growth and healing

The amazing thing is that as the outer layers of an onion are peeled back and the  roots begin to shrivel new growth can begin. Firm strong and fresh shoots begin to rise from the heart out and up.

AWAKE AND ASLEEP

I.          This is so weird.  I need to get out of here.  I'm hot.  I can't move.  Damn, what a dream.  OK, just wake up and the scary feeling will go away.  I can't breathe.  It was just a dream.  Why do I   feel like this? I'm all alone. Is there no God?  Breathe..........just get up.
II.         footsteps..........it's him..........at the door...........coming near.........
            pretend to be asleep.........breathe slow...........sure, he knows..........
            don't open your eyes..........not even then........not till he goes.
III.       huh?.......nothin', just playing solitaire.....two on the ace, seven on the eight, move the king, too   many cards gone, start over, four on the five.......

            just one cookie...........ok, then 2.......nothing in the fridge.......peanut butter from the jar.....maybe           some popcorn.......ice cream?.......a little wine...............any cookies left?.............jack on the queen, seven on the eight—hey, I won, start over, three on the four, move the ace..........

IV.        Awakened by the baby's cry.  Oh, God, no. Not again.  I'm so tired.  Please, just go back to     sleep. OK, OK, I'm coming. The leaden limbs, the soft and sodden brain, the remnants of     slumber so safe and dark and warm.  And yet I make the commands and I move toward my      duty. 

            The child and the parent—together in me.  Asleep and awake. Who hears the cry?  Is the          child mute? Who marshals the resources to meet the demand?  Who will care for the child?  The sweet slumber is not the child's but the adult's........jack on the queen......move the king.......look           in the fridge.....six on the seven......... Listen. You'll know.  But the somnolence feels so safe and     dark....... Shake off the slumber.  Rouse yourself.  Move toward your duty.  Then you,      adult/child, can  rest.

            I thought I'd be over all this by now.......................

I will not lower my sword - I will fight
for the Truth
Yes I am daunted
Yes I am afraid
Fear of you - fear of
your subtle spells
the words that
ripple through my skin~and
creep across the unprotected
pathways in my brain.
Shields of defense I will raise
emblazoned with a star of hope.

I have to see, to hear
and to understand....
for without the seeing
how will I know
when to raise my shields?

Ever vigilant, constantly waiting,
will I always have to be at the ready?

Hate seems so black a thing.
An invasive thing.
A consuming thing.
Destructive and devouring.

I do not want Hate.
I do not want to Hate,
yet the tentacles of hate
slither across my heart.

Can I hate what you have done?
Can I hate what you still do inside
my brain.
without a Hate of You?

Bunchy

Scared of the future
Frightened of the past
Want to step of this train
It's travelling to fast

The Flashbacks in my head
That tire me out
Don't have the energy to scream an shout

Want to stop the cogs in my head
From whizzing around
Want to stop the whizzing
An lie on the ground

Then all will be quiet
An all will be still
I can just lie for a while
start to smile an chill.

DON'T  QUIT              

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you frown a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is strange with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you can never tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worst
That you must not quit.

YOU KNOW YOU'RE SURVIVING WHEN........

your life starts to changeyou notice the sunshine
and the smell of the rain.

You hear children's laughter and the sky looks SO blue
the flowers are coloured
-they must be brand new!

You go to the shops
you stand in the queue
and the people around you
are NOT looking at you.

A friend stops to speak
you stop for a while
as well as a chat
you manage a smile.

So, when sunshine is dark
and flowers are black
don't be disheartened
you're on the right track.

The journey is too long.
We need the help that people give
To make each other strong.

To take a chance to be alone,
Could lead to dangers new.
And all because you are too proud,
To take help that's offered you.

So now it's time to walk the road
With friends you found anew,
And let them give the help you need

    Don’t Cry Alone

Don’t feel ridiculed
Because they don’t understand
I do
I cry alone
I want to let them go
Let the tears flow and flow,
Sobs and howls
But I cry alone
Don’t cry others say
Because they can’t handle it
So stifled I stay
A little tear in my eye

Fear, of what is said
Fear - during his dirty deed
Fear, for me,you and them
But now I understand
That I can cry
And need not be alone
I can allow the tears
To flow and flow,
Along with another
With whom I can share
I need not cry alone

on black
feathers

raven
rememberings
released
one by one
from cages
of past 

flying
to
freedom
anger filled raven sky
is reaching
for the stars

Snow White
all around me you lay
pristine
crystal sparkle
pure.
Even Snow White
was tainted
by
hurt.
Victim
to the blackness
that put her to sleep.
oh!!!
but please never forget
the kiss that woke her.
Kiss of the snow
melting the pain
kiss yourself
love yourself
Be
your own
Snow White
